A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER

The High School Dropout Who Convinced David Beckham to Co-Found the World's Fastest Growing Supplements Brand

GUANGDONG MADE ME

Guangdong to San Francisco

I was five years old when my parents packed everything we owned into two suitcases and flew from Guangdong to San Francisco. This was 1984. China wasn't the China of today. My parents wanted one thing: a better life for my brother and I.

I don't remember much about the flight. I remember the apartment. Small. Cold in winter. My parents working shifts that started before I woke up and ended after I fell asleep. My mother would always leave food with smiley faces. My father would come home smelling like kitchen grease and still ask me about school.

They never complained. Not once. They carried the weight of two lives — the one they left behind and the one they were trying to build — and they never let me see them buckle.

By twelve, I was selling baseball cards at a local baseball card store. Not because anyone told me to. Because I watched my parents work eighteen-hour days and something in me said: figure it out yourself. I got paid in cards. I learned what people wanted. I learned how to read a face. I learned that the kid who shows up every day eventually outsells the kid with better cards.

We had nothing. And that was enough to make me want everything — not for myself, but so they'd know it was worth it.

I dropped out of high school at fifteen. Truth is, school and I were never a good fit—I wasn't a great student, got into fights, and ended up getting kicked out of three different high schools. I know how that sounds. But I wasn't dropping out of learning—I was dropping into it.

Right after, I got a job as a telemarketer. I was calling grown adults, reading scripts I barely believed in, getting hung up on forty times a day. Within six months, I was managing people in their thirties. While most kids my age were worrying about prom, I was learning the only lesson that ever mattered in business: rejection is information. Every “no” teaches you what “yes” sounds like.

The classroom couldn't teach me what the phone could.

I dropped out at fifteen. Truth is, school and I were never a good fit. But I wasn't dropping out of learning — I was dropping into it.

THE RISE

From selling mangoes to a billion-dollar listing. And then the fall.

From eighteen to twenty-four, I worked at Keynote Systems and then Barracuda Networks. I learned how real companies ran. But I always knew I'd build my own thing.

At twenty-five, I cold-called Hui Lau Shan — the biggest dessert chain in Hong Kong — and convinced them to let me open their first US location. Nobody told me I could do that. Nobody told me I couldn't. I just picked up the phone and made the case. Six months later, I was scooping mango pudding at 6 AM and doing the books at midnight.

Then came hotel furniture — working with MGM CityCenter, learning how to operate at scale. Then I saw an opportunity in Hong Kong with group buying. In 2010, I moved there with a suitcase and launched UBuyiBuy. Six months after launch, we were acquired. I became Groupon's East Asia CEO. I was thirty. I made my first millions.

People called me lucky. People always call you lucky when they didn't see the years you spent in rooms where nobody knew your name.

In 2014, I started Prenetics — a DNA testing company. I wanted to give people the information that lets them act before it's too late. Not sell things. Know things.

Then COVID hit. We pivoted to PCR testing at a scale nobody thought possible. 28 million tests in three years. Over $700 million in revenue. I remember standing in our lab at 2 AM during the worst of it, watching vials move through machines, thinking: this is what I was supposed to do.

Prenetics NASDAQ Ceremony
Danny at the Prenetics Nasdaq listing in Times Square

In 2022, we took Prenetics public on Nasdaq at a $1 billion valuation. My mother cried. My father stood very straight and said nothing, which is how he's always said everything.

And then it fell. From $1 billion to $50 million in less than two years.

I'm not going to dress that up. It was brutal. The calls stopped coming. The invitations dried up. I found out very quickly who my real friends were. And I learned something that no success had ever taught me: the number doesn't define you. But you have a responsibility to the people who believed in you.

Today, Prenetics is back near $400 million. That number doesn't matter to me the way it once would have. But I have a responsibility to my shareholders, and it's a sign of the impact we're making on people's health. I kept going. Not because of the valuation. Because of the mission.

"$1 billion to $50 million. I learned who my friends were. I learned what actually matters. And I kept going."

THE FOUNDING MOMENT

A dinner that changed everything

Danny Yeung and David Beckham

Late 2023. A mutual friend, Michel Lamuniere, introduced me to David Beckham. We met in London. I had no pitch, no deck, no agenda. This wasn't a business meeting.

At one point, David said something that stuck with me: “If we ever do something together, it has to be the best in the world—and it has to taste good.”

Then he added, almost matter-of-factly, “I'm exhausted by the pills. I just want one thing I know actually works.”

That hit me.

I shared my background—building consumer brands, but also coming from life sciences and genomics. That intersection caught his attention. He told me he'd been pitched hundreds of times to launch something in supplements, and he had said no every single time. It never felt right. It never felt credible. It never met his standard.

This was different.

We kept talking. Not one meeting, but countless conversations—with him, with his team—challenging every assumption, pressure-testing every idea. We weren't trying to create another supplement. We were trying to solve a problem we both genuinely felt.

Over time, that alignment became conviction.

And eventually, David said yes—not as a spokesperson, but as a co-founder of what is now IM8.

From day one, the bar was clear: it had to be the best in the world—and it had to taste good enough that people would actually stick with it. So we recruited some of the best scientists globally and set out to fix what we both saw as a broken industry—overwhelming, under-regulated, and full of empty promises.

We wanted to build something people could trust. Something simple, effective, and built to last. Something we'd be proud to take ourselves for years to come.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT

What happened next surprised even us

We launched IM8 in December 2024. Within eleven months, we became the fastest growing supplements brand ever recorded, reaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

But the number I care about isn't the revenue. It's the messages. Thousands of them. People telling us their energy came back. That they're sleeping through the night for the first time in years. That their doctor noticed the difference. That's the number that matters.

$100 million in ARR within eleven months. But the messages from people whose health actually changed — that's the number I carry with me.

In June 2025, Aryna Sabalenka—the world's number one tennis player—joined us. Not as a face on a billboard, but as a partner and shareholder. Then in February 2026, Ollie Bearman, the youngest British F1 driver in history, came on board. Same deal—partner, shareholder, friend.

And most recently, in early April, Giannis Antetokounmpo joined IM8.

What matters most to me is how each of these relationships started. They weren't the result of a pitch. They reached out after using the product—after putting it through the demands of their own training—and feeling the difference for themselves. More energy. Better recovery. Real, noticeable impact.

These are some of the highest-performing athletes in the world. They don't compromise on what they put into their bodies. They tested IM8, they trusted it, and they chose to be part of it.

They're not ambassadors.

They're partners. Shareholders. And friends.

WHY I'M TELLING YOU THIS

Why I'm telling you this

None of us needs to do this. David doesn't need another business. Aryna doesn't need another endorsement. I don't need another company to run. We've all had success in our careers.

We choose to do this because we want IM8 to have a global impact on millions of lives. Because I think about my parents — who gave everything so I could have something — and I want to build something that gives back. Because I think about my kids, and I want them to see their father building something that actually matters.

IM8 is 90+ clinically dosed ingredients in one drink. It's NSF Certified for Sport. It was developed with scientists from leading medical institutions. It replaces the sixteen bottles I used to juggle every morning with one thing I actually trust.

I'm not going to tell you it'll change your life. I'm going to tell you it changed mine. And if you've ever sat with the feeling that you should be doing more for your health but you're not sure where to start — I built this for you. The same way I built it for myself, for my family, and for my kids.

I built IM8 for my kids. For my parents who gave me everything. And for anyone who's ever wished they'd started taking care of themselves sooner.

MY FATHER'S STORY

The proof I didn't expect

Danny Yeung with his father
Danny and his father — both wearing IM8

My father is 81 years old. He's the man who came home smelling like kitchen grease and still asked me about school. The man who stood very straight at my Nasdaq bell ceremony and said nothing — which is how he's always said everything.

Last May, I gave him IM8. Not as a sales pitch. As a son who wanted his father to feel better. He had age spots covering his hands — the kind doctors say are normal for someone his age. "Nothing you can do about it," they told him. Just part of getting older.

He started taking IM8 every morning. That was the only thing that changed.

May 2025 — Before
Father's hand after IM8 — age spots gone
March 2026 — After

Ten months later, the age spots are gone. Not faded. Gone. The only thing that changed in his routine was IM8.

I'm not a doctor. I'm not making a clinical claim. I'm telling you what happened to my 81-year-old father's hands after he started taking the same thing I take every morning. You can see it for yourself.

His doctor said the age spots were normal. Nothing you can do. Ten months of IM8 later — they're gone. That's my father's hands. That's my proof.

From a cold apartment in San Francisco to a Nasdaq bell ceremony. From watching my father work double shifts to watching his age spots disappear at eighty-one. From a dinner with David Beckham to a company that reached $100 million in its first year.

Every chapter of my life led to this one. IM8 isn't a supplement. It's everything I've learned about health, loss, ambition, and family — distilled into one daily habit. I take it every morning. My father takes it. My kids will take it when they're old enough.

If you've read this far, you already know whether this is for you.
